Guidance and counseling services in schools aim to help school students with personal, social, and academic issues. These types of services are provided by trained professionals with the support of teachers. Early identification of problem behavior is possible with the help of teachers, they can play a vital role in addressing student issues and concerns and responding to students’ psychological, emotional, and developmental issues.

A survey on Guidance and Counseling practices will be conducted by the Training Unit of the Board during the session 2023-2024. The link for this school survey will be shared through the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Centers of Excellence (COE) in due course.
Free online sessions related to the following sub-topics of Guidance and Counseling will be conducted by all CoEs during the session 2023-2024. Online registration for the online sessions will be done through the official portal of CBSE at CBSE Training Portal. Offline Capacity Building Program (CBP) on career guidance will be conducted by the CoE.
A National Conference on Guidance and Counseling will be organized in the month of October 2023. The details information of this National Convention will be notified separately on the official CBSE board website.
School counselors or wellness teachers are encouraged to maintain records of their observations, psychological assessment reports, and counseling sessions of this training on the academic and emotional issues of students. The best practices of the schools on Guidance and Counseling training programs may be shared with the respective CoEs and also presented in the proposed National Conference on Guidance and Counseling.
Principals of all CBSE-affiliated schools are requested to inform the teachers and encourage them to participate in online/offline training on guidance and counseling. The trained school counselors/wellness teachers should conduct guidance and counseling activities program throughout the year (2023-2024) and also share their achievements and experiences with the CoE of the Board.
