Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Program in Life Skills, Holistic Health, and Wellbeing
The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Board, vide circular number Acad-80/2021 dated 10 September 2021, has announced to launch and support the Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Program to enrich life skills, holistic health, and wellbeing of its students in association with Expressions India.
The rationale for such initiatives is to enable students to play a vital role in behavioral change and adaptation to strengthen the inclusive environment as the Coronavirus (or Covid-19) Pandemic has impacted the psychosocial well-being of children and adolescents across the country.
The objective of the Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Program
The objective of the Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Program is to empower Life Skills and Wellbeing Ambassadors and enrich the environment for healthy & happy schools.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) hereby announces the online launch of the “Adolescent Peer Teacher Leadership Program in Life Skills, Holistic Health, and Wellbeing”.
First Phase of Training Program
Around 2462 schools enrolled their students and teachers in the first phase of the training programs to be conducted under this program. Enrolled students (peer educators) and teachers from many of these schools, who have been trained under this program, have developed action plans for the successful implementation of life skills, health, and wellness in their schools.
Second Phase of Training Program
The board will start the second phase of the training programs in the month of May 2022. Schools are requested to send their enrollment as per the following:
- Enroll four senior students (peer educators): two each from classes 9 and 11 to participate in the comprehensive orientation program.
- Also, nominate one Teacher and the School Counselor/ Wellness Teacher to support the 4 peer educators.
When designating a representative Peer Educators team, please ensure that all team members have the following:
- Enthusiasm and commitment to teamwork
- Good communication skills and empathy for peers
- Ability to model and lead appropriate behavior for others
- Zeal for knowledge and sensitivity toward health and wellbeing issues
How to Register
Step I: Schools willing to participate may fill up the online Registration Form for Training Program.
Step II: A short note (400 words) of the online activities being carried out by the school for the promotion of life skills, holistic health, and wellbeing should also be submitted along with the registration form.
Step III: The last date to fill out the online registration form is April 30, 2022. Only online registration forms will be accepted.
About 50 schools will be enrolled per training program. The respective schools will be informed as per the schedule of these programs. A participation Certificate (e-Certificate) will be provided to the participating students and teachers.
School heads are requested to attend this adolescent peer teacher leadership program and spread the above information among students and teachers to get the maximum benefit from this scheme.
