The Joint Entrance Examination will be organized in two parts, JEE Main Exam, and JEE (Advanced) Exam. JEE (Main) replaced the AIEEE entrance exam and JEE (Advanced) replaced the IIT-JEE entrance exam in the year 2017. What is JEE Advanced?
JEE Advanced (earlier known as IIT JEE) is the second stage of JEE exam and is usually conducted after JEE Main Result. It is an essential exam for engineering candidates (especially those seeking admission to premier engineering institutes like IITs). JEE (Advanced) is a computer-based online exam usually conducted alternately by seven different Indian IITs such as IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, and IIT Guwahati.

JEE Advanced Registration 2023
JEE Advanced Registration 2023 will start from 30 April 2023 to 4 May 2023 through Computer Based online mode. Joint Entrance Examination Advanced is a national-level entrance examination organized annually by one of the seven regional Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in a rotational pattern.
Only the top 250000 aspirants who have secured rank in JEE Main 2023 will be eligible to fill JEE Advanced 2023 application form. The JEE Advanced Application Form 2023 process consists of three simple steps such as filling out the online registration form, uploading documents (scanned photograph and signature), and paying the JEE Advance registration fee.

Eligibility Criteria of JEE Advanced 2023
In order to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2023 all the aspirants must fulfill each of the following criteria together.
Performance in JEE (Main) 2023: Aspirants must be in the top 2,50,000 successful aspirants (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. JEE (Main) 2023 paper. The percentage of different categories of aspirants to be shortlisted is 10% for General-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% open to all. Within each of these five categories, a 5% horizontal reservation is available for aspirants with disabilities.

Age Limit: Students should have been born on or after 1st October 1997. SC, ST, and PWD aspirants are given a relaxation of five years, i.e. these aspirants should have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
Number Of Attempts: An Aspirant can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: An aspirant should have appeared for the first time in Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2021 or 2022 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects. Aspirants who appeared for the first time in Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2020 or earlier are not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced Exam 2022 unless covered by the one-time special measure prescribed below.
Note: Appearing in class 12 (or equivalent) examination means that the concerned board has declared the result for that year, irrespective of whether the examination has been conducted or not. It will be treated as attendance even if the result of a particular aspirant is withheld.
However, if the Board of Examination of Class 12 (or equivalent) has declared the result for the academic year 2019-20 on or after October 15, 2020, then the aspirants of that Board who appeared in their Class XII examination in 2020, they are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria.
If the Board of Examinations of Class 12 (or equivalent) had declared the result for the academic year 2019-20 before October 15, 2020, but the result of particular aspirants was withheld, then the aspirants will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022.
Relaxation in Criteria as a particular case for JEE (Advanced) 2022 (Criterion 4)
One-time measure for those who appeared in the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2020/2021 and successfully registered for JEE (Advanced) 2021 but did not appear:
Aspirants who appeared in the class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2020 or 2021 and successfully registered for JEE (Advanced) 2021 but were absent in both the papers of JEE (Advanced) 2021, i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2, are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2022 directly and need not fulfill criteria 1 to 4. However, they have to successfully register for JEE (Advanced) 2022 in the online registration portal and pay the registration fee. Further, these aspirants would be considered in addition to and not as part of the total number of aspirants who would qualify for JEE Main Exam 2022 for appearing in JEE (Advanced) 2022.
This is a one-time measure valid only for JEE Advanced 2022 due to the ongoing pandemic. These applicants will have to confirm their eligibility to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022 by visiting the JEE (Advanced) official website and filling in the requisite information during registration.
This one-time measure is not applicable to aspirants who appeared in their class 12th examination for the first time before 2020.
Earlier admission at IITs (Criterion 5)
A student should not be admitted to an IIT, irrespective of whether the candidate has continued in the program or not or has accepted an IIT seat in the past by reporting at “Online” / “Reporting Centre”. Aspirants whose admission to IIT was canceled (due to any reason) even after joining any IIT are not eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2022.
Aspirants who have been admitted to preparatory courses in any IIT for the first time in 2021 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022.
Aspirants who were allotted seats in IITs through JoSAA 2021 but did not (i) report “online”/ at any “reporting center” or, (ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment had, or, (iii) canceled their seat (for any reason) before the final round of seat allotment for IITs, are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2022.
JEE Advanced Application Form 2023
Only those aspirants who secure JEE Main 2023 rank among the top 2.5 lakh aspirants are eligible to fill JEE Advanced 2023 online application form. The JEE Advance application process is online and the form is available only on the official website at jeeadv.ac.in.
- Firstly, every aspirant has to register through the official website at jeeadv.ac.in by providing their JEE Main 2023 roll number, password, and security pin.
- As a second step, aspirants have to enter various personal details like their candidate name, parent’s name, communication details, address details, etc in the specific column of JEE Advanced 2023 registration form. The details entered in the application form must be accurate as wrong details may lead to the cancellation of candidature at later stages.
- Aspirants will also have to enter their choices of exam centers while filling out the application form.
- Now, aspirants also have to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.
- After submitting all the correct details, aspirants have to take multiple printouts of the final application form for future reference.

JEE Advanced Admit Card 2023
Aspirants will be able to download their JEE Advanced 2023 Hall Ticket through online mode only. Admit Cards for this exam will not be available through offline mode or not by post. Aspirants of this exam will be able to get it on 29 May 2023 to 4 June 2023. The Exam Date for JEE Advanced will be held on 4 June 2023.

JEE Advanced 2023 Cutoff
The exam officials will declare the qualifying cutoff along with JEE Advanced Result 2023. Students of JEE Advanced need to score minimum marks in each subject and overall qualifying JEE Advanced cutoff 2023 to be included in the rank list. Note that JEE Advanced 2023 cutoff will be different for different categories. An aspirant who qualifies in more than one category will be considered in all the categories to which he/she belongs for the purpose of JEE (Advanced) ranking.
Shortlisted students will be eligible to participate in JEE 2023 Advanced counseling and seat allotment process. However, qualifying in JEE (Advanced) 2023 or participating in the combined seat allotment process does not guarantee a student gets admission to IITs.
JoSAA will declare the JEE Advanced cutoff on its official website for admission to various IITs after the counseling and admission process. The Cut-off of JEE (Advanced) 2023 for admission will be different for each IIT and will also be different for each category.

After the declaration of the result, the exam authority will start JEE Advanced Counseling 2023. The Joint Seat Allotment Authority (JOSA) has the responsibility to conduct all the JEE (Advanced) student counseling-related activities. The counseling process for JEE Advanced Students is divided into various stages such as registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, seat acceptance, and reporting to the allotted college.
