Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases a new circular regarding The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) Marathon 2022-2023. Students are advised to read the complete article for all important resources and details regarding ATL Marathon 2023.
This is in continuation of Circular Number 37/2022, in which it was informed that Atal Innovation Mission has launched its flagship innovation challenge for school children of India – The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) Marathon 2021-22 – a national level innovation Challenge, where aspirants identify community problems of their choice and develop innovative solutions in the form of working prototypes.
The previous edition of the ATL marathon saw several innovations, with the top 350 getting internship opportunities with India’s top companies, awards, and certificates from AIM, and NITI Aayog.

What is ATL Marathon 2022-23?
ATL Marathon is the flagship innovation challenge of Atal Innovation Mission, where schools identify community problems of their choice and develop innovative solutions in the form of working prototypes. The previous edition of the marathon saw several innovations, with the top 350 getting internship opportunities with India’s top companies, awards, and certificates from AIM, and NITI Aayog.
The theme of this edition of ATL Marathon is “India’s G20 Presidency“. The issue statements in this edition of the ATL Marathon are inspired by the different working groups of the G20.

Top-performing teams will get opportunities through Student Innovator Program and Student Entrepreneurship Program, Certificates and Internships through India’s leading Corporates and Incubation Centers, Certificates from AIM, NITI Aayog, and many more exciting opportunities. The top 10 teams from each state and union territory will also receive a certificate of excellence.
ATL Marathon 2022-23 Objective
At ATL Marathon 2022-23, we want aspirants from India to choose any one of the below-mentioned problems or work on a problem they find around them, research, ideate, innovate and implement a solution for it.
Themes & Problem Statements of ATL Marathon 2022-23
The themes and issue statements for this edition of the ATL Marathon are inspired by the different working groups of the G20. ATL Marathon 2022-23 has 8 themes –

| Environment & Climate Sustainability | o Innovate to find ways to reduce carbon emissions in industries o Build solutions to make every citizen in India adopt the environment-conscious lifestyle |
| Development | o Design a solution to improve public transportation in India o Design a solution to improve the drinking water and sanitation problem in India |
| Digital Economy | o Build solutions for the Digital India Movement across different sectors o Design solutions to improve digital governance. |
| Tourism | o Design solutions to boost the tourism industry in India o Build a solution for sustainable development in popular tourist locations preserving the natural and ecological heritage of the region. |
| Others | This year, we have a unique theme to incorporate all the exclusive ideas and innovations. If you have any innovation in any field other than the above 7 topics, you can submit your projects here. |
Top-performing teams will get certificates and internships and many other exciting opportunities through the Student Innovator Program and Student Entrepreneurship Program with India’s leading Corporates and Incubation Centers. The top 10 teams from each state and union territory will also receive a certificate of excellence.
The competition is open to all students (ATL schools and non-ATL schools) in India and is a great way to try and inculcate an innovative mindset among the students. Through this competition students research, ideate, innovate and finally implement their solutions over a period of 4 months to ultimately benefit their community, region, and in turn the country.
Principals of all affiliated schools are requested to encourage their students to participate in large numbers and be a part of India’s innovation journey.
