Postpone NEET PG 2023: Doctors Meet Health Ministry Officials, Decision Expected on Feb 6

Postpone NEET PG 2023: As candidates continued their demand for postponement of NEET PG 2023, a delegation of the Federation of All India Medical Associations (FAIMA) headed by the chief advisor, founder and former general secretary met the health ministry officials on January 31.

Thousands of medical candidates have been demanding the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance-Postgraduate examination (NEET PG 2023) by 2-3 months after the National Board of Examinations (NBE) announced the date for the NEET PG 2023 exam on 6 January 2023.

The delegation will meet officials of the Health Ministry on 31 January. Will meet the health ministry in the next 2 days regarding the postponement of the NEET PG 2023 exam and after that, a decision will be taken in this regard.

According to the group of doctors, if the NEET PG 2023 exam date is postponed, then students will have enough time to prepare. FAIMA founder Dr. Manish Jangra, who went to meet the minister, said that he is trying all possible to effect the postponement of NEET PG 2023. Other than the postponement of NEET PG 2023, doctors are also demanding a revision of the internship deadline as many interns are ineligible.

The association further questions that due to the staggered counseling round of NEET PG 2022 on January 10, 2023, many aspirants will not have enough time to prepare for the NEET PG 2023 exam. Other than FAIMA, other associations, the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA), the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) wrote to the minister for postponement of NEET PG 2023 due to insufficient time for preparation for the examination between NEET PG 2023 exam and counseling process.

The doctors’ association and NEET PG 2023 candidates want the exam to be scheduled in May or June 2023 and the internship cut-off to be extended till July 31, 2023. Aspirants also want the PG session to start after 15 August 2023, instead of July 15, 2023.
