Delhi Government launches Delhi Robotics League for School Students

Delhi Robotics League: The Delhi Government launched the Delhi Robotics League for School Students in the presence of Director-Education Himanshu Gupta at Dr. BR Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence.

The league is the first tournament of its kind to be organized at the school level all over the country. Through this Delhi Robotics League initiative, the Delhi government seeks to create curiosity for the field of robotics among children studying in its schools, to find and prepare talent for the future of the robotics technology field, reported many News Media.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said on the occasion that technology is changing rapidly all over the world. In these times of constant technological development, countries that can adapt and re-learn are the ones that rise to the top of the developmental ladder.

Manish Sisodia (Deputy Chief Minister) said that it is a matter of great pride that through events such as Delhi Robotics League, aspirants studying in our schools are preparing themselves for the future.

Class 9 and Class 10 students will get a chance to showcase and enhance their skills in the field of robotics.

The said Delhi Robotics League program is being organized at BR Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence in Surajmal Vihar and the competition will be open to all schools in Delhi and will continue till June 2023.

The idea behind this Delhi Robotics League competition is to nurture excellence in robotics among school students, believes the Directorate of Education (DOE).

In this Robotics league competition, School aspirants will compete with working robots built and designed by them in various stages, and the winning team will receive a cash prize as well as an opportunity to receive seed capital and mentorship from IIT Delhi to start an entrepreneurial venture.

IIT Delhi’s technology innovation hub IHFC will act as the knowledge partner and the Delhi government’s School of Specialized Excellence will organize boot camps to mentor the teams participating in the Delhi Robotics League competition.

In addition, the live streaming of the launch of the robotics league will be broadcast through the website of DoE in government schools as well as government-aided schools. Private schools will also have the facility of live streaming.
