CBSE (Most Popular Education Board) has released a new circular about “CBSE Introduces Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Digital Citizenship for Middle School”. This latest Circular “Orientation Sessions for Principals/Heads of Institutions and Capacity Building Programs for Teachers on Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR-VR) and Digital Citizenship (Skill Module for Middle School)” is available on the official website of the CBSE board.
CBSE board introduced Augmented Reality – Virtual Reality (AR-VR) and Digital Citizenship as two new skill modules for classes 6 to 8 during the academic year 2022-23. These two modules were introduced with the aim to excite school aspirants on the possibilities of pervasive technologies while educating them to become responsible digital citizens.
The subjects cover important aspects of orientation sessions like digital etiquette for students, cyber safety, cyberbullying, information literacy, use of the internet for social good, and the future of our digital world with topics like Artificial Intelligence, AR/VR, and the Metaverse with experiential and activity-based learning at the core of the pedagogy.
Aim of AR VR Orientation Session
To help in greater understanding and enable more schools to pick up these skill subjects, a virtual orientation session is being organized for the Principals/Heads of Institutions, and subsequently Capacity Building Online Orientation Sessions will be conducted every month for teachers of all CBSE-affiliated schools.

As part of the Orientation Session initiative to train students to become responsible digital citizens, all schools affiliated with CBSE have been requested to take the “Digital Citizen Pledge” at www.iamdigitalnagrik.com. This Digital Citizen pledge is a reminder that each of us has a responsibility to make the digital world a place that is safe for all. Schools authority are encouraged to share the pledge about Digital Citizenship with students as well. More details about this pledge on how schools can integrate this and report activities will be shared during orientation.

- There is no fee for attending these online orientation session programs.
- It is suggested that the participants of this program join via a laptop/desktop.
