Meri Mati Mera Desh (MMMD) Campaign is the homestretch program of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commemoration. It envisages paying tribute to all those brave men and women who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
In the first phase of the Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign, various programs were organized in rural and urban India. These include the following:
- Construction of memorial plaques with names of local Bravehearts (2 lakh+ constructed already)
- Felicitation of Bravehearts and their families
- Planting of saplings (2 crore+) and creation of 2lakh + local Amrit Vatikas.
- Taking of Panch Pran pledges (about 4 crore uploads on Meri Matti Mera Desh website)
- Singing of Rashtragaan and hoisting of National Flag at events held.
Mitti is being collected from every household in India as a symbolic contribution and expression of people’s participation towards the construction of Amrit Vatika in Delhi in the second phase of Meri Mati Mera Desh. Where soil (or Mitti) is not available, people can also give a grain of rice. The Amrit Vatika along with the AKAM Memorial of this program will be a lasting legacy and permanent reminder of the entire commemoration of the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi and the spirit of valor and sacrifice of our heroes who made our freedom and progress a reality.

The overall planning of this program related to Amrit Kalash Yatras including dates, routes, logistics requirements, construction and procurement of Kalash, etc. is being coordinated by the respective District Collectors/District Magistrates/Deputy Commissioners. The DCs/DMs of these events are also coordinating the events at the Block/Urban Local Body (ULB) levels in consultation with the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and other concerned stakeholders.
Under this campaign, select Central Government Ministries/Departments through their various entities have been mapped in all the districts of the country to enhance and support the efforts of the State.
School authorities are advised to work with State representatives and field-level units of Central Government Ministries/Departments to enhance their outreach efforts and ensure successful implementation.
