Online Career Guidance and Counselling Portal for Students 2021 Updates
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated online portal on career guidance and counseling. Career Portal provides information about careers, college directories, scholarships, and competitive entrance examinations.
UNICEF, with partners from 13 state governments and the private sector, has customized career portals in regional languages to help 21 million adolescents access education and work-related resources.
According to Terry Durnian, Head of Education, UNICEF India, the Coronavirus pandemic has raised concerns among millions of youth about their future livelihoods and the skills they need to develop in the 21st century.
UNICEF has supported online career guidance counseling portals in several states. He further added, “UNICEF is delighted to partner with CBSE in association with iDream Careers to develop the CBSE Career Guidance Portal.”
All CBSE school students of classes 9-12 can sign up on the portal with their details and access a personalized career dashboard. This career guidance portal will be accessible to teachers and administrators.
Presently each student will be able to access 560+ careers in English, Hindi, and 8 other languages, 25,000+ colleges and vocational institutes across 3 lakh courses, 1200 scholarships, 1150 entrance exams through a personalized career dashboard. The portal containing the complete career curriculum will be made available to the students of classes 9-12 at no cost.

- Teachers or counselors will be given a personalized dashboard to access the entire career curriculum and will be used to guide students with their career queries.
- The details of the two teachers can be sent through Google Form (Fill the form to register for the career guidance training program) which will be made available on the CBSE portal by 6th September 2021.
- The training will start from 10 September to 10 October 2021. Zone-wise schedule will be informed separately to all the schools.
