One Nation One Exam: UGC plans to merge JEE, NEET, and CUET Exam

One Nation One Exam: As per the latest media updates, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has sent a proposal that will merge NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) and JEE Main exams with CUET (Common University Entrance Test), making it an entrance test for all.

CUET Exam Twice a Year

CUET (Common University Entrance Test) launched in 2022, is likely to be conducted twice a year from 2023 onwards and is set to eliminate the need to appear in multiple entrance exams, a move that should decrease the burden on aspirants to a great extent.

The idea is to merge JEE Main and NEET with CUET and then conduct integrated CUET exams twice a year to give aspirants a better chance to secure admission to the college in the subjects of their choice. There will be no limit on the number of attempts.

In an interview with a top media house, Kumar said that while aspirants of this exam appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics papers for JEE, they appear for NEET Exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The two subjects were the same in these two exams, and the same was included in CUET as well.

NEET, JEE Merger with CUET Exam through One Nation One Exam

According to the proposal, only one entrance test will be conducted in CBT mode twice a year for all JEE, NEET, and CUET. If accepted, aspirants of these exams may get a chance to appear for the exam once in May-June (after the board exam), and another in December Month.

Presently, aspirants have to appear for NEET Exam for medical and dental education, JEE Main Exam for admission to engineering courses, and CUET Exam for admission to degree courses in science, humanities, and commerce in different universities.
