CBSE and AICTE Jointly launch Innovation Ambassador Program To Strengthen Teachers Mentoring Skills
CBSE on 14th June 2021, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to motivate, train and engage school students and teachers in various initiatives for skill enhancement currently being organized by AICTE for its Engineering and Technology students and faculty.
The New National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes nurturing young students for problem-solving and critical thinking at the school level. Therefore, teachers have to mentor and guide these young students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship.
In order to strengthen the mentoring capacity of teachers, CBSE in association with Innovation Cell, AICTE, and Ministry of Education launched the ‘Innovation Ambassador Programme’.
In which training will be given to the teachers of affiliated schools. The following five modules:
- Design Thinking and Innovation
- Idea generation and Ideal hand-holding
- Intellectual Property Rights
- Product or Prototype development
- Finance, Sales, and HR

Speaking on the Online Innovation Ambassador Training Program, Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer of AICTE said that it can help strengthen the mentoring capacity to nurture the ideas of the students. He said that this would systematically promote a culture of innovation in school education across the country.
AICTE Vice-Chairman Prof M.P Poonia spoke about Student Learning Assessment Survey and talked about autonomy, practical knowledge, assessment, innovation, Industry 4.0, and critical thinking in NEP 2020- School Education Pedagogy and Curriculum Process of making a student be lively, able to plan and think while outlining.
Chairman of CBSE Shri Manoj Ahuja informed about the collaborative approach and partnership with AICTE for training program under the ATAL academy and teachers training in new areas Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Coding, Cybersecurity.
He said that there is a need for an enabling environment in the schools for the students to take up innovative tasks and think. There is a need to mentor these students and align education with the goals of NEP 2020.
Professor Anil D Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman of AICTE expressed hope in the students as they learn to observe their surroundings and encourage them to innovate in schools.
Dr. Biswajit Saha Director of Training & Skills welcomed the joint efforts of the two premier institutes and stressed creating innovation clubs in schools for nurturing future leaders.
More than 40,000 teachers participated in the online awareness Teacher training program organized in support of the Innovation Ambassador Program.
