CBSE CTET July 2023 Notification
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CTET exam every year to assess the eligibility of teachers for primary and upper primary classes. It welcomes candidates who are willing to pursue their careers in the teaching field.
You must know that there are two types of CTET July 2023 Exams which are known as Paper 1 for primary classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for secondary classes 6 to 8
CTET is the central teacher eligibility test based on which applicants can apply for various vacancies in various government and government-aided schools. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam will be conducted in online mode (Computer Based Test) from this year onwards and CTET July 2023 Exam will be the 17th edition of the CTET exam, which will check the teaching aptitude of the candidates.
What is CTET?
CTET 2023 exam is a national-level exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Every year lakhs of applicants appear for the CTET exam. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has conducted the CTET exam for candidates who want to become a Govt. Teachers.
The CTET exam is conducted in two parts that are Paper 1 and Paper 2. CTET Paper 1 is for the candidates who want to teach students of classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for the candidates who want to teach students of classes 6 to 8. Those applicants who want to teach students in classes 1 to 8 have to take both papers.

CTET July Exam 2023
Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year by CBSE to determine the eligibility of candidates for teacher posts for classes 1 to 8 in Central Government Schools like NVS/KVS and other schools etc. at the national level.
CTET exam was earlier conducted in offline mode, now CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will schedule CTET 2023 for online mode (CBT Mode). The states which do not conduct the TET exam select the candidates through the CTET exam.
CTET 2023 Application Fee
Applicant belonging to the General/OBC category is required to pay the Application Fee for CTET July 2023 Exam Rs. 1000/- (if applying for Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1200/- (if applying for both papers). By reducing the same amount to Rs. 600 (If applying for Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 600 (if applying for both papers) for candidates belonging to SC or ST category.

CTET 2023 Exam Syllabus
CTET 2023 Syllabus: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) official detailed syllabus will be released by CBSE Board on its official website. If CBSE makes any changes in the syllabus or exam pattern it will be updated in the official notification on the official website.
CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will also release the detailed CTET syllabus in case of any changes. The CTET exam consists of two papers and candidates have to appear for the paper as per eligibility. To crack the CTET July 2023 Exam students must know about the CTET Syllabus and Exam Pattern in detail.
CTET Paper 1 Syllabus: Topics Covered in CTET Paper 1 such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics, and Environmental Science.
CTET Paper 2 Syllabus: It includes the subjects of Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The candidate has to choose either Mathematics/ Science or Social Studies as per their respective subjects.
A candidate is required to score a minimum of 60% in order to qualify for the CTET 2023 exam. One great thing to note is that the CTET score declared by CBSE is now valid for a lifetime.
CTET Certificate Validity
The Ministry of Education has extended the validity of the Central Teacher Evaluation Test (CTET) from 7 years to lifelong. This move, as well as the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST), will help improve the teaching profession.
According to Pankaj Arora, the concept of CTET was introduced to enable students to become school teachers without spending a lot of time and effort on the examination. This was also done to ensure that the teachers kept up with the latest skills and conditions. The professor of education said that the introduction of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also marked the beginning of NPST with some changes.
CTET 2023 Certificate and Marksheet
Central Board of Secondary Education will provide Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) mark sheets to all the candidates and eligibility certificates in digital format to the successful candidates in their Digilocker accounts. The CTET Marksheets and eligibility certificates will be digitally signed and legally valid as per the IT Act. The mark sheet and eligibility certificate will also have an encrypted QR code to enhance security.
The QR code can be scanned and verified using the DigiLocker mobile app. DigiLocker accounts of all the appeared candidates will be created and the account credentials will be communicated to the candidates on their mobile numbers registered with CBSE. Candidates of CTET will be able to download their digital mark sheet and eligibility certificate by using the communicated credentials.
CTET Eligibility Criteria 2023
Persons having minimum qualifications for teaching staff as per the following are eligible to appear in CTET:
National Council for Teacher Education (Prescribing Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be Recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.
The minimum qualification prescribed by the appropriate Government in the Recruitment Rules for Teachers where the School is situated or the Recruitment Rules for Teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
The candidate should fulfill his/her eligibility before applying and if he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria then he/she will be personally responsible. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test), it does not mean that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. Final verification of eligibility will be done by the concerned recruiting agency/appointing authority.
CTET Exam Pattern 2023
There are two papers in CTET Exam,
- Paper 1 will be for the person who wants to become a teacher for classes I to V.
- Paper II will be for the person who wants to become a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
A person who wants to become a teacher for both levels (Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII) has to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).
The questions asked in both Paper I and Paper II of the CTET Exam 2023 are objective multiple-choice questions.

Nature and Standard of Questions
- The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6 to 11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics & needs of diverse learners, interacting with learners, and the characteristics and qualities of a good learning facilitator.
- Test items in the Language-I paper will focus on related competencies through instruction.
- Test items in Language II will focus on elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
- The language-II exam paper will be in a language other than Language I. A candidate can choose any one language as Language I and the other as Language II from the available language options and will need to specify it on the confirmation page.
- Test items in Mathematics & Environmental Studies will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be distributed equally in different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed by NCERT for classes 1 to 5.
- The questions in the Paper-I ctet exam will be based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus for classes I to V but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, can be up to the secondary level.

Nature and Standard of Questions

How to Submit CTET 2023 July Application Form?

Step I: Visit the official website of CTET or click this direct link to submit CTET Application Form Online.
Step II: Click the “Apply Online” link given on the homepage of the ctet Website.
Step III: Enter all the details asked in the application form and note down the Registration number or Application Number.
Step IV: Upload Scanned Images of your latest Photograph and Signature.
Step V: Pay the CTET Examination fee through a debit card, credit card, net banking, etc.
Step VI: Print the confirmation page for future use.
CTET Registration 2023: Imporrtant Point
- Participants have to provide their correct mobile number and email id while filling out the CTET 2023 application form Online.
- Aspirants of CTET are advised to keep a copy of the filled application form along with a copy of the e-challan for future use/reference.
- The conducting authority will not provide the facility for application correction in offline mode. participants can make changes to the application form only when CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will release the online application correction window on the official website at cbse.gov.in.
- The application fee once deposited by the aspirants is not refundable under any circumstances.
CTET Marksheet 2023 Available on DigiLocker
The CTET Exam MarkSheet will be available to all the successful candidates who have qualified for the exam in digital format in their Digilocker accounts. The CTET aspirants will be able to download their digital mark sheet & eligibility certificate by using the communicated credentials.
CTET 2023 Educational Qualification
There are two Papers in each CTET Examination:
- Paper-I: For Class I to V (Primary)
- Paper-II: For Class VI to VIII (Elementary)
If an aspirant intends to teach Classes from I to VIII, he/she has to appear in both Papers.
Educational Qualification for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Stage)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (Fifty Percent marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (OR).
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least forty-five percent marks (45% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations, 2002 (OR)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (OR)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* (OR)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
- Post Graduation or equivalent grade with a minimum of fifty-five percent marks (55% marks) and three years of integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
Educational Qualification for Classes 6 to 8 (Elementary Stage)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (OR)
- Graduation with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) (OR)
- Graduation with at least forty-five percent marks (45% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE Regulations OR
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed OR
- Graduation with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)* OR
- Post-Graduation with a minimum of fifty-five percent marks (55% marks) or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates will be given a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks.
- Aspirants pursuing any teacher education course (recognized by NCTE or RCI) will be eligible to appear in CTET.
