CBSE Announces CSIR Innovation Award for School Children 2022: Prize Up To Rs 1 Lakh

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases a new circular about CSIR Innovation Award for School Children 2022 (Aim, Overview, Topic or Field, Evaluation, Eligibility, Registration, Rewards).

In order to inculcate scientific culture among school children, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology has launched the competition “CSIR Innovation Award 2022 for School Children”. To build awareness, interest, and motivation for intellectual property and to support scientific temper and spirit of innovation in school children.

Over the years, various schools have participated in this competition and school children have been rewarded accordingly. Every year, the awards are presented by the Hon’ble Prime Minister or Hon’ble Minister of Science and Technology during the foundation day of CSIR on 26th September.

It is expected that more schools should participate in order to provide school students with wider opportunities in their scientific careers. In this competition, CSIR will also provide training in IPR to the selected meritorious students along with their science teachers. This will be very important for both the students and the teachers.

The last date for submission of entry is 30 April 2022. School students of 18 years and below (as of 01.01.2022) can participate in this competition.

About CSIR Innovation Award for School Children 2022

India is Celebrating 75 years of Independence as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav all over the country. As a part of this program, the Amrit Mahotsav Science Showcase: Roadmap to 2047 celebration is being conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

In this CSIR Innovation Award Competition, school students can unleash their creativity in the above areas:

Students are encouraged to display their creativity in any of the disciplines and are encouraged to choose any one format of Comics/Videos/Infographics/Science Fiction/Apps/Animation to express their ideas or solutions.

Parameters for Evaluation of CSIR Award

Children will be evaluated for their creativity; innovative ideas; storytelling ability; message delivered; overall aesthetics; out-of-the-box thinking; usability/usability in terms of apps/videos/animations. Students get the opportunity to compete at the national level and win prizes. The developed top-notch content will also be showcased on the CSIR Jigyaasa Virtual Lab platform for global reach.

Eligibility of CSIR Innovation award

School-going students of classes 1 to 12 (below 18 years of age as of 1 January 2022).

How to register for CSIR Innovation Award 2022

Step I: Go to the official website at https://jigyasa-csir.in/ or click here to visit the Registration Page of CSIR Innovation Award.

Step II: Enter all details asked on the registration page.

Step III: Tick Term and Condition box and Enter Verification Code (Show on the Screen).

Step IV: Click on the “Submit” button.

Prizes and Cash Prizes

Students get the opportunity to compete at the National level and win prizes. The developed top-notch content will also be showcased on the CSIR Jigyaasa Virtual Lab platform for global reach. There are 15 awards in total. It is not mandatory that all the below 15 prizes for the award will be given. In addition to a certificate, there are cash prizes:
